Who can make a Report?
Anyone with a valid experience regarding a business can report, whether as a customer, employee, or observer.
What to Report?
You can report:
- Non-delivery of goods/services after payment.
- Phishing
- Payment Fraud
- Love Scam
Steps to Submit a Report
1. Log In: Sign in to your Ceetrust account or create one if you’re a new user.
2. Navigate to the Scam Encyclopedia: Go to the "Report a Business" section.
3. Provide Business Details: Include the name, location, and website or social media handles of the business.
4. Describe the Issue: Write a detailed account of your experience, including dates, amounts paid, and any communication with the business.
5. Attach Evidence: Upload supporting documents such as receipts, screenshots of chats, or photos of the product/service in question.
6. Submit Report: Click "Submit" to send the report for review.
NOTE: In order to make a report on Ceetrust, you must have a Reviewer profile. Find out how to create a Reviewer profile here.
Dos and Don’ts
- DO provide accurate and truthful information.
- DO focus on facts, not opinions or emotions.
- DO ensure your evidence is clear and relevant.
- DON’T submit defamatory or malicious reports.
DON’T report without a legitimate claim.
Moderation Process of Reports by the Ceetrust Team
Step 1: Initial Review
- The Ceetrust team receives the submitted report and checks for completeness.
- Any missing or unclear information is flagged, and the reporter may be contacted for clarification.
Step 2: Evidence Verification
- Attached documents, screenshots, or photos are reviewed to validate the claim.
- Cross-checks are made against publicly available data, such as business profiles or customer reviews.
Step 3: Authenticity Check
- The team ensures the report is genuine and aligns with Ceetrust’s guidelines.
- By clicking on the “Submit” button, you agree that your name be made public on the Ceetrust platform.
Step 4: Business Notification
- The reported business is notified of the claim and given a chance to respond or dispute the report.
- Businesses are required to provide counterevidence or explanations within 3 days.
Step 5: Decision Making
- After reviewing both sides, the Ceetrust team decides whether to publish the report in the Scam Encyclopedia.
- Decisions are based on factual evidence and the severity of the claim.
Step 6: Publication
- If approved, the report is published in the Scam Encyclopedia with a visible tag "Verified Scam" attached next to their name.
- If rejected, the reporter is informed with reasons and suggestions for resubmission if applicable.
